AcuWellness5NP has scheduled its next training for people to become certified to provide the 5-Needle ear acupuncture Protocol (5NP). There are no professional or educational prerequisites, but to be certified by the Arizona Acupuncture Board you must be able to obtain a level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

DATES: Friday -Sunday, June 12, 13, and 14, 2026, 9am - 4pm each day.

LOCATION: House of Neighborly Service, Bldg 1, 243 W. 33rd St., South Tucson.

COST: $350 to AcuWellness5NP and $50 to the People's Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA)

Trainees will receive a kit with needles and other supplies sufficient to provide 100 5NP treatments, access to the POCA online training manual, a Clean Needle Safety Certificate and a Certificate acknowledging successful completion of the training so that you can apply for certification to the Arizona Acupuncture Board. AW5NP operates 3 weekly free 5NP clinics so trainees will have ample opportunities to complete the course clinical requirement of treating 40 ears during or soon after the training.

The course will cover the history of 5NP, Asian medicine explanation of 5NP, science of addiction, trauma-informed care, clean needle safety, among other topics. The course will also provide step by step instructions to applying for certification with the Arizona Acupuncture Board. The story of the development of 5NP is amazing and uplifting and the people taking this course tend to be wonderful, community-minded people.
